Operation Riptide Returns: New Map Pool Announced

The fan-favourite operation is back. Valve quietly pushed an announcement to the Counter-Strike blog this morning confirming that Operation Riptide will return as a free, time-limited event for all CS2 owners. The featured map pool drops Anubis and Vertigo for two community classics — Tuscan and Cache — alongside a rotating playlist of community-built maps.

Weekly missions are back as well. Players earn coin XP through Wingman, Casual, Competitive, and Premier wins, with bonus payouts for completing the optional "Tuscan Run" challenge. The reworked coin tracks Bronze → Diamond, with Diamond unlocking a profile coin and a name-tag glyph.

The operation runs through the end of the season; Valve has not committed to a sequel, but case drops continue at the regular cadence for participants.
